Every restaurant in Spring Hill is inspected by the Tennessee Department of Health. Neither Williamson nor Maury County is one of the state’s contract counties that run their own food programs, so Spring Hill inspection reports are in the state’s online system, whichever side of the county line the restaurant is on.

How to look up a score

  1. Go to the Department of Health’s inspection reports site.
  2. Search by the restaurant’s name, or by “Spring Hill” to see every establishment in the city.
  3. Open an inspection to read the date, the score, the type of visit (routine or follow-up) and each item the inspector noted.

Tennessee restaurants also post their most recent inspection report, on bright yellow paper with the score in large numbers, according to a Department of Health release.

We downloaded every food service establishment inspection with a Spring Hill address in the state system dated April 20 to Oct. 15, 2026: 124 inspections, 87 routine and 37 follow-ups. All 87 routine inspections scored 90 or higher, and 51 scored a perfect 100. The three scores in the 80s, the lowest an 83, were on follow-up visits. Each restaurant’s own reports are in the state system.

How to read an inspection

  • A score is a snapshot. It describes what the inspector saw on one visit. Conditions can be better or worse on another day, and a single report does not rank one restaurant against another.
  • Read the violations, not just the number. The report lists each item the inspector cited and often what was corrected on the spot.
  • Follow-ups are visits to check that problems found earlier were fixed.

The rules inspectors apply are the Tennessee Food Safety Rules published by the Secretary of State.

What else the health departments inspect

Besides restaurants, the county environmental health staff inspect bed-and-breakfasts, child care facilities, hotels and motels, organized camps, public swimming pools, school buildings and tattoo studios, and they run rabies vaccination clinics and investigate animal bites, according to the Maury County Health Department.

Reporting a problem

Opening a food business

Restaurant and food truck permits go through the state’s permit application. A business in Spring Hill also needs a city business tax license and, for a new or remodeled space, building permits. Because of the city’s sewer moratorium, a new restaurant in an existing space may need an engineer’s letter on sewer demand; see our building permits and zoning guide.

How we report inspections

Spring Hill Daily reports inspection results as the state publishes them, with the date and type of each inspection. We do not characterize a restaurant beyond what the report says, and we note when a follow-up inspection shows problems were fixed.
