State report card
Tennessee gives every public school an A-F letter grade. The Department of Education says the grades are meant “to provide a snapshot of how each school performed during the previous academic year,” on its school letter grades page. For an elementary school the grade combines achievement, growth and growth of the highest-need students, each scored 1 to 5, from state tests in grades 3 to 5 (grades 3 and 4 in Maury County, where fifth grade is in middle school).
Amanda H. North Elementary earned a C for 2024-25, the latest grades published, with an overall score of 3 out of 5 in the state’s letter grade file.
| Indicator | Score (1 to 5) |
|---|---|
| Achievement | 5 |
| Growth | 1 |
| Growth of highest-need students | 1 |
| Overall success rate, all students, 2024-25 tests | 70.1% |
Amanda H. North scored the top mark for achievement but the lowest for growth and for growth of its highest-need students, which is why a school with one of the highest success rates in Spring Hill has a C.
Spring 2026 TCAP tests (share of students who met or exceeded expectations, all tested grades, from the state’s 2026 school assessment file):
| Subject | Met or exceeded | Valid tests |
|---|---|---|
| English language arts | 69.8% | 278 |
| Math | 82.3% | 277 |
| Science | 79.5% | 278 |
