State report card
Tennessee gives every public school an A-F letter grade. The Department of Education says the grades are meant “to provide a snapshot of how each school performed during the previous academic year,” on its school letter grades page. The grade combines four indicators scored 1 to 5: achievement, growth, growth of the highest-need students and, for high schools, college and career readiness.
Battle Creek High earned an A for 2024-25, the latest grades published, with an overall score of 5 out of 5 in the state’s letter grade file. The state had too few graduates to score college and career readiness.
| Indicator | Score (1 to 5) |
|---|---|
| Achievement | 5 |
| Growth | 5 |
| Growth of highest-need students | 5 |
| Overall success rate, all students, 2024-25 tests | 44.6% |
Spring 2026 TCAP tests (share of students who met or exceeded expectations, from the state’s 2026 school assessment file):
| Subject | Met or exceeded | Valid tests |
|---|---|---|
| English I | 30.2% | 225 |
| English II | 62.5% | 224 |
| Algebra I | 15.5% | 200 |
| Geometry | 50.6% | 257 |
| Algebra II | 20.5% | 161 |
| Biology | 57.5% | 207 |
| U.S. history | 47.5% | 120 |
The state’s 2024-25 graduation rate and ACT files have no rows for Battle Creek High, since it had no seniors that year. The full report is on the Tennessee State Report Card; search for Battle Creek High School.
