Spring Hill’s three nearest neighbors that are cities or towns are Thompson’s Station, about five miles north, Columbia, about 11 miles south, and Franklin, about 12 miles north, measured between the Census Bureau’s center points. Spring Hill itself sits in two counties: Thompson’s Station and Franklin share its Williamson County side, and Columbia, the Maury County seat, shares its Maury County side. That split runs through every table below. This page sets the official figures side by side, one topic at a time, with the same year for all four. It does not rank them.

Property taxes

Tennessee taxes a home on 25% of its appraised value, and rates are set per $100 of that assessed value. These are the actual 2025 rates in the Comptroller’s 2025 Tax Aggregate Report, the latest year published for all four:

City County County rate City rate Combined Tax on a $500,000 home
Spring Hill, Maury County side Maury $1.91 $0.739 $2.649 $3,311
Spring Hill, Williamson County side Williamson $1.27 $0.739 $2.009 $2,511
Thompson’s Station Williamson $1.30 $0.103 $1.403 $1,754
Columbia Maury $1.91 $0.8251 $2.7351 $3,419
Franklin (outside the special school district) Williamson $1.27 $0.296 $1.566 $1,958

The last column applies the combined rate to a home appraised at $500,000, which is assessed at $125,000. The report lists a different combined rate, $2.0633, for Franklin homes inside the Franklin Special School District. For 2026, Spring Hill’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen kept the city rate at $0.739, and Maury County reappraised every property, which can change the county rate; see our property taxes guide.

Tennessee has no general homestead exemption. The state’s tax relief and tax freeze programs for older, disabled and veteran homeowners are handled by each county trustee, and Spring Hill runs its own tax relief and tax freeze programs for city taxes.
